Religion vs. Spirituality

My faith has always been an important part of my life, but my relationship with religion is more complex than simply attending church. Over the years, I have learned to separate my beliefs from the actions of others within religious communities. While negative experiences with people can sometimes make faith feel challenging, they have never taken away my connection with God. Instead, my spirituality and faith have helped me navigate difficult seasons, find guidance during uncertainty, and become the person I am today. This reflection explores the balance between faith, religion, and maintaining a personal relationship with God despite life's challenges.

Religion vs. Spirituality

When it comes to religion I feel like I am firm in my beliefs and faith, but not with the

system when it comes to religion. As a member of the church and someone who participates I

can separate my faith from the people in the church, if that makes sense, but as I was saying

being part of the church is not all peace, but like my mom says its where the devil likes to

tempt people especially when people are trying to build their faith. For me personally I tend to

keep people from church away from me as much as possible especially when I know their

intentions are not the best with me. That does not stop me from having my faith tho, because I

know that I can still believe and be a good person even if I do not like the people at the

church and in some cases for some people that actually makes new people step away from bad

experiences at the church. I am not trying to dive into that, but I believe that my spiritual

side is helped by my religion, because in my case I feel like I have been heard and guided

through those hard times that has allowed me to become the person I am and has guided me to

the right people that surround me.
