Conditioned to People Please

For most of my life, I considered myself a people pleaser. I wanted to fit in, be liked, and avoid conflict, so agreeing with others often felt easier than speaking up for myself. Over time, I realized that constantly putting others first was affecting my self-esteem and preventing me from living authentically. Through self-reflection, personal growth, and learning to establish healthier boundaries, I am beginning to value my own voice and make choices that bring me genuine happiness rather than simply seeking approval from others.

Our worst enemy: A conversation on self-sabotage

For years, I struggled to give myself credit for my accomplishments. Even after reaching important milestones like graduating and becoming licensed in my career, I found ways to minimize my success by comparing myself to others or convincing myself I could have done better. While those realizations can be painful, they also teach us how to recognize the people who genuinely care about our well-being. Through life's challenges, I have learned that God often places new people in our path—people who encourage us, guide us, and eventually become family in their own way.

Love Does Not Have a Deadline

Although I am surrounded by people who love and support me, I have not yet found a romantic partner—and that's okay. Rather than rushing into a relationship, I am focusing on personal growth, learning to care for myself, and trusting that the right person will come at the right time. While the idea of being vulnerable and opening my heart can be intimidating, I am slowly becoming more open to the possibility of love. This journey has taught me the value of patience, self-discovery, and trusting both God's timing and my own.
